It was announced on July 23rd that Shige will be appearing in this year's 24hr TV drama as Tokura Shunichi, a Japanese composer, the sworn friend of Aku Yu, the Japanese lyricist that Kame will be playing.

The "Aku-Tokura" combi is best known for writing countless hit songs for the female duo, "Pink Lady", and the drama will feature the journey of how the duo was discovered, starting from NTV's audition programme, "Star! Tanjou!", till they became a hit duo.

This is the first time the two of them are properly collaborating in the same work, and for Shige, who back danced for KAT-TUN as a junior, "To me, Kamenashi-kun is a star, so I was a little nervous at first." Kame teased Shige for being a "sensei", in that he's been so active as a writer, but he also recognised that Shige has built a distinct character of his own and that they could talk about common topics. Shige also mentioned that although what they are acting out is from more than 40 years ago, he somehow knew what was going on, and that shows how much Aku's songs have been a part of his life. He also hopes the younger generation can learn about such history.

Other cast members announced include Tanaka Kei, who will be acting as Kamimura Kazuo, a manga artist whom Aku looked up to and was a good friend of, and Wada Masato and Yashima Norito as the director and producer of the audition programme respectively.
